Dr. Angela Thompson has been a Family Nurse Practitioner specializing in the care of adolescents and adults with diabetes for the last 20 years. Her current clinical practice is within a hospital-based endocrinology clinic at Hendricks Regional Health in Danville, Indiana. She serves as the Medical Director of the Diabetes Youth Foundation of Indiana- a residential diabetes camp located in Noblesville Indiana. She received her Doctoral Degree from Indiana State University in 2017 and master's degree in nursing with Family Nurse Practitioner focus from Ball State University in 2009. She holds board certifications as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Advanced Diabetes Management (BC-ADM), and Diabetes Care & Education Specialist (CDCES). She was inducted as an AANP fellow in 2017 and awarded the Indiana Diabetes educator of the Year in 2009. Her current appointments include President of the Coalition of Advanced Practice Registered Nurses of Indiana, AANP Region 5 Director, Chair of the 2021 AANP National Conference, and Vice-Chair of the AANP Endocrine SPG. She has served as the past AANP Indiana State Representative, AANP Fellows Selection Committee member, and Past-President of the Indiana Central Association of Diabetes Educators (ICADE).

Caitlin has been a faculty member of IU South Bend for 6 years. The courses she teaches are Leadership and Primary Care of Families. These courses integrate the professionalism and requirements for practice. Caitlin also was the President of CAPNI, the Coalition of Advanced Practice Registered Nurses of Indiana. This organization advocates, promotes and supports Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs) of Indiana through networking, education and legislation that favors the full practice authority of APRNs
Kristy Umana, MSN, RN, FNP-C
Kristy Umana RN, MSN, FNP-C graduated with her MSN/FNP from Ball State University in 2013. She graduated with her BSN from Ball State University in 1994, and her associate's degree in nursing from Kettering College of Medical Arts in 1984. She has experience as an APRN in Cardiology, Family Practice, and Diabetes/Endocrinology. She is currently practicing full time at Ascension Health in an outpatient Diabetes and Endocrinology Clinic in Fishers, Indiana. In her spare time, she volunteers as a clinical provider at Gennesaret Free Health Care Clinic. She serves in multiple leadership roles in her state APRN professional organization and National NP organization. She is a mentor and preceptor for NP students. She has served as an adjunct faculty for preceptorship at Marion University. Kristy has a passion to help new graduate NPs navigate their role successfully.
Shari Bryant DNP, RN, ACNP-BC
Shari is the Director of Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Services working as an ACNP with the Hospitalists at St. Vincent Evansville and leading 12 additional NPs. She graduated from the University of Southern Indiana with a BSN in 2001, MSN in 2008, and DNP in 2019. She has been a member of CAPNI since 2010 and has served as Region 4 Vice President from 2016-2017 and Region 4 President from 2018-2021. Shari is also a member of Sigma Theta Tau, and she has received local awards including 20 Under 40 for Evansville in 2016, AANP DNP Scholarship in 2018, and the 2019 Spark award for leadership. She founded the AG-ACNP Internal Medicine Fellowship at St. Vincent Evansville and has spoken at numerous conferences including Sigma’s Congress in Canada in 2019 with publication in The Journal of American Nurse Practitioners.
