About the Authors:
Karen S. Hill, RN, DNP, NEA-BC, FACHE is Vice President/Nurse Executive at Central Baptist Hospital, a national Magnet facility in Lexington, Kentucky. Ms. Hill presents nationally focusing on topics of leadership development, intergenerational workforce concerns and retention of nursing staff. Presentations include AONE, Sigma Theta Tau and National Magnet national conferences. She is a columnist and member of the Editorial Board of the JONA and of Reflections on Nursing. She is Treasurer of the Board of Commissioners of the NLNAC.
Lois S. Marshall, PhD, RN principal of Lois S. Marshall Consulting, has been a nurse educator for 30 years. She is a mentor for new nursing school graduates through mid-career nurses in the areas of career advancement and career decision-making.
