This presentation will describe the authors' transition from static to unfolding multi-patient case studies that incorporate the knowledge students gain from theory courses and integrate it into their application-based lab curriculum.
This course will retire after 14th April 2026.

After participating in this course, learners will be able to:
- Describe integration of unfolding case studies and lab curriculum
- Map the next phase of an unfolding case study to a current lab scenario
Speaker Bio:
Liz Willis, MSN, CHSE, RN
Liza Willis (she/her) is an Associate Professor in the nursing department at St. Charles Community College. She teaches courses in the nursing labs and simulations throughout the associates degree and practical nursing programs. Liza has been with St. Charles Community College since 2004. She specialized in healthcare simulation education. She feels the simulation helps students take the theory they have learned and apply it to patient care in a safe learning environment. She also wants to help students achieve their academic dreams. Liza has a master's in nursing education from Goldfarb School of Nursing, Barnes-Jewish College. She received a post graduate certificate in Clinical Simulation in Nursing Education from Robert Morris University. Liza is a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE).
